I was wondering because it mentions being able to play games with the sick children and also you can keep family informed on how someone is doing during and operation which is what i would prefer to do but my mom said it might be difficult especially if i have to deliver bad news which i understand but its really something id like to do but the bigger problem is would they let me because of my age?
you should not be the bearer of bad news -that responsibility falls on to an adult and should be doctor or nurse healh care professional. You would do the other things and I think it is great you can do this! I grew up in Miami long ago but baptist hospital was there even then wih its volunter program. It is admirable for a youn person to start to give of their time in service for the community they are a part of. we people and all creatures in this world together. Helping each other is important work/service! Once you start you will soon find you are learning things and you may end up training someone else new!
I thinking of starting a physician assistant career. I hear that having previous hospital volunteer experience is recommended. How do I get that?
You can just go to a hospital and ask for the Volunteer’s Office. My daughter volunteered at a hospital for two summer. She just went to the office and told the people there that she wanted to be a volunteer. She got the job right away.

after natural death due to aging
I have made arrangements to have any and all useful parts harvested and then the body to be donated to a teaching hospital (Vanderbilt). They can use parts of the eyes, skin, bone for grafting, heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, and more things are being added. There are not nearly enough donors to supply the need.
I have recevied an offer from General Hospital Madrid. They send me a soft copy of official letter of appointment by email undersigned by Dr. Prof Ahmed Abdul Nasser. I would like anybody helping me about the authenticity this offer and the firm itself.
Find the telephone number from information (not from the letter) and call the hospital to verify.
What kind of doctor/nurse would leave the sick and injured to die?
Earthquake victims, writhing in pain and grasping at life, watched doctors and nurses walk away from a field hospital Friday night after a Belgian medical team evacuated the area, saying it was concerned about security.
It is partly that way, it is caused because of the circumstances and the victim Environment.
Thanks.
My doctor told me next time I am suicidal, that I have to go residential. I don’t want to hide my feelings. So what’s it like being residential?
You will be with other people close to your age with similar problems. You will attend group therapy sessions and likely be asked to keep a written journal of your thoughts and activities.
There will be rules to abide by. It is very possible you will be assigned a private Nurse to be with you at all times…24/7 if you are deemed suicidal.
Also if you are on suicide watch, you will not be allowed any sharp instruments like pens, pencils, combs anything you could use to harm yourself.
They will start you on medications and carefully observe the effectiveness. Best of luck.
I am curious if they watch you here or not. I have shy bladder, and I curious if they will be watching me?
Usually they will put you in a single stall bathroom and have someone stand outside until you’re done. When I say outside, I mean outside the bathroom all together.
For some reason I thought if you had a work related injury, hospitals had to bill the workers comp and it was illegal for them to bill any private medical insurance. I know auto insurance has a cap, like $100,000 personal injury and once that runs out the medical insurance starts being billed but for some reason I thought it was different with work comp claims. Was I wrong?
Just fyi Mbrcatz, not all states w/c pays at the Medicare level. As a matter of fact, the state of Michigan pays higher than Medicare.
A hospital is not supposed to bill a person’s private medical insurance unless the claim has been denied by the employer and/or the employer’s w/c carrier.
As a medical biller for a group of ER physicians, we have many people come in a say the reason they are there is work related and later we find out it is not and the claim is denied. If the hospital got the person’s medical insurance, it saves us from having to rely on the person to contact us later and give it to us.
Bottom line, it is not illegal for them to obtain the information for back-up purposes.
