These aspects are important for a community hospital, but it is the patients, the medical staff and those who work there, along with collaborative community Partners In Health who support it-that make it great.
In an effort to maximize all these resources, Garden City Hospital introduced the new Garden City Hospital Foundation in October 2003 with offices in the Office Centre East Building in suite 209. Garden City Hospital has joined many hospitals across the country that have utilized separate Foundations in order to make their fund development more effective.
The newly created Foundation Board is being enlisted to guide the new venture and carry the message to the Western Wayne County community and beyond. Internally, these members will assist in educating staff members of the existing Partners In Health Campaign, along with guidance in obtaining donations from willing patients and their families.
The first Garden City Hospital Foundation Board meeting was held Wednesday, December 3, 2003, with by-laws and structure being established, a resolution was passed guaranteeing 100% participation in Partners In Health by the Hospital and Foundation Boards. Their hope is to spread this enthusiasm to the hospital Managers and Directors of each department, seeking to increase participation from employees for the benefit of the hospital.
The Garden City Hospital Foundation is interested in helping individual hospital departments with any needs through the use of foundation grants
