When Candy Dowdy’s mother became very ill and hospitalized out of town, Candy knew it was time for her mother to move closer to her in Farmville. Before she could check her mother into assisted living, a referral was needed. Upon evaluation of Candy’s mother, Robert Wade, MD, assessed her mother’s health and admitted her to Centra Southside Community Hospital.
The care Candy and her mother experienced was different than any treatment they’d experienced elsewhere. Candy’s mother quickly warmed to the staff at Centra Southside Community Hospital. The doctors and nurses made Candy feel at home during those nights when she stayed in the hospital room with her mother.
After nine days, Candy’s mother was released and is now happily in assisted living with her husband.
