How much do preschool teachers get paid in hospitals?
I am contemplating getting my units in child development so I can teach preschool, but I love the hospital setting. Do you happen to know if hospitals pay more for this type of position? Thanks!!
Some hospitals do have preschools for the children of their staff. I volunteer in one. Children who are patients are usually tutored privately by qualified teachers who are actually paid by the school district, but this starts at school age. Pre-school tutors would be paid by the parents privately.
The preschool in our local hospital isn’t actually funded by the hospital. The teachers’ salaries
are competitive with other preschools in the district, and depend on qualifications. The salary for full time teachers isn’t much, but they can live on it. I think you should get your units and then keep your options open about jobs.
I work in a hospital and it doesn’t employ teachers, I wasn’t aware that any do.
(But it wouldn’t be the first time I have been wrong)

Pre school teachers don’t get paid awfully much… If you like hospital settings, be a nurse instead (you will still help children). Most private pre schools pay the teachers approx. $25.
PS. You can get a job in hospital and be a teacher
