What is the maximum time hospitals keep patient records from the last visit of something serious? 10 years?

Can other hospitals view this information?

believe it or not hospital records are archived for 99 years. and yes if another hospital needs the information…it can be obtained

  1. I think it depends on the hospital. Call the hospital and ask. As for other hospitals viewing the information, I’m not sure. I would say yes because it’d be your past medical history and it could effect how or what they treat you with on your visit.
