Can I admit myself to a Psychiatric hospital?

Are there any good adolescent Psychiatric hospital in northern Ireland. I self harm and I have taken an overdose before. I have wanted to die before but the urge has never been as strong as it is atm, it’s affecting my everyday life, I can’t function properly.

Hey hun i’m in England, however if you feel you are an immediate threat to yourself, go to the hospital, to A & E, explain your feelings to the doc’ and he’ll take it from there! But if you think you’ll be ok till the morn go see your own GP, he’ll help long term and if you need to be committed he’ll help you, but unless your a threat yourself i doubt you’ll be committed hun.

I suffered with depression terribly, my GP helped me through suicidal feelings etc. Good luck hun, this too shall pass.

EDIT: Hey there, was wondering how your doing? Hope all is well.

  1. No you can’t, you have to be medically assessed and referred by GP, or if you are really low and its an emergency by a Doctor in A&E.

  3. Yes, you can. Phone the local crisis team and explain to them how you feel. They should arrange things from there.
